I am originally from Claremont, NH where I grew up playing the greatest sport on earth…HOCKEY! At the age of 16, I moved to Sunny San Diego and that is where I found exercise and fitness (at least what I thought it was at the time.) I joined the Navy after high school and signed up to become a Navy Deep Sea Diver. I had no idea what I was in for! What a great honor. Fast forward twenty-one years and a lifetime of fitness experience later. I am now retired and pursuing my passion as a fitness trainer. I am passionate about helping others on their journey towards fitness whether that is just losing a few pounds, staying in shape or working towards elite level fitness.

I was born in Louisiana and grew up most of life in the beautiful Sunshine State of Florida. Many days were spent on the beach skim boarding, body surfing and riding my BMX bike. It wasn’t until I joined the Navy that I began my quest for “getting in shape”. During my time in the Navy, I was a search and rescue swimmer and tended to do well in endurance sports. I wasn’t very strong beyond body weight exercises, but felt I was in the best shape of my life… boy, was I wrong. About three years ago, I realized the importance of becoming more well rounded in my fitness programming and it became a passion to achieve those goals as well as helping others do the same. I became the lead trainer of Crossfit Dam Neck and ran it from September 2008-April 2011. So like Eric, I am retired from the Navy and I have decided to help people whether they want to live a better life, improve their times on a half-marathon or triathlon or simply become stronger.

Greg SlaterI was born and raised in Ocala Florida. I joined the Navy when I was nineteen, became a Navy Diver and moved to Virginia Beach where I’ve lived ever since. My fitness background was the usual doses of cardio exercises associated with military training including running and calisthenics. About four years ago my great friend Eric Dubreuil introduced me to a new methodology of workouts called CrossFit. I really liked the high intensity, short duration of CrossFit workouts along with weight lifting which I’d never done before. For the past couple of years I’ve worked out regularly at CrossFit Odyssey and of course with Eric. Now I’m really enjoying PT in the Park, Superb programming and the opportunity to coach driven and enthusiastic athletes.
